This pages lists the datasets produced under Task 2: Knowledge base of the project. Check back soon as we will add more datasets as and when they are produced and published.

Hydrometeorological data are published and can be dowloaded from the Environmental Information Data Centre (note that you will need an account to download data). Click the links below to view the metadata records on the EIDC and download the data.

Potential Evapotranspiration (PET)

Daily Potential Evapotranspiration (PET) was derived applying temperature-based equation McGuinness-Bordne using temperature data from the Met Office (1891-2015) Click the links below to view the metadata records on the EIDC and download the data.

Reconstructed River Flow

Reconstructed daily river flow data have been reconstructed for 303 catchments across the UK using precipitation and temperature data rescued by the Met Office in the Historic Droughts project and Potential Evapotranspiration data calcaulted in the Historic Droughts project (Tanguy et al., 2017).

Reconstructed Groundwater Levels

Reconstructed monthly groundwater levels have been reconstructed for 54 observation boreholes across the UK using precipitation and temperature data rescued by the Met Office in the Historic Droughts project and Potential Evapotranspiration data calcaulted in the Historic Droughts project (Tanguy et al., 2017).

Standardised Precipitation Index (SPI)

SPI for the UK has been calculated from 1862-2015 using precipitation data that has been rescued by the Met Office in the Historic Droughts project.

Standardised Streamflow Index (SSI)

SSI for 303 catchments across the UK has been calculated from 1891 to 2015 using river flow reconstructions produced in the Historic Droughts project (Smith et al., 2018).

Standardised Groundwater Index (SGI)

SGI for 54 observation boreholes across the UK has been calculated from 1891 to 2015 using groundwater level reconstructions produced in the Historic Droughts project (Bloomfield et al., 2018).
